Manager/Sr. Manager, Technology Infrastructure Operations

Do you have a passion for solving complex business problems? KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues — managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs — that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We help companies to identify and manage risks inherent in business processes and technology systems that support business objectives, and provide them with the information needed to help them meet their strategic and financial goals. Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking an IT Advisory Manager/Senior Manager to join us in our Chicago office.

Responsibilities for both positions:
• Assist with identifying opportunities, developing relationships, scoping prospective engagements, and developing proposals
• Develop relationships across our clients, market, and vendor communities
• Lead client engagements and be responsible for the on-time creation of project deliverables
• Assist with developing or updating firm methodologies regarding technology operations services
• Identify and communicate engagement findings to senior management and client personnel
• Identify performance improvement opportunities for clients
• Present thought leadership at internal training classes, external events, and client environments
• Work across KPMG service lines to identify teaming opportunities
• Lead and provide performance management for staff working on assigned engagements
• Manage the preparation of work papers in accordance with firm standards and compliance requirements

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:
• Lead business and market development efforts including client oral presentations and proposals
• Act as the performance manager for team members

Qualifications for both positions:
• Five years of experience in consulting engagements or technology operations role
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field
• Demonstrated ability to assess and enhance IT processes within an organization and knowledge of challenges faced by implementation teams
• Demonstrated knowledge of IT operations, systems, architecture, technical controls, and data-centric issues, and considerations
• Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL, eTOM or Cobit frameworks.
• Demonstrated track record of leadership, client management, and project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives
• Excellent team building, mentoring, and leadership abilities
• Strong client services orientation and accustomed to taking an active role in executing engagements
• Strong analytical skills and able to write at a publication-quality level to communicate findings and recommendations
• Able to travel up to 80 percent
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• ITIL Masters, TOGAF and/or CoBIT foundation knowledge preferred

Additional qualifications for Senior Manager:
• Eight years of applicable work experience
• Accomplished executive business development track record and demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Demonstrated track record of leadership, client management, and project management
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives
• Excellent team building, mentoring and leadership abilities
