Responsible for the supervision of the Telephonic Hiring Employment Information Center (THEIC). This includes: scheduling daily work of staff; scheduling and approving leave of all staff; supervising all daily, weekend and holiday hiring activities; supervising, training and coordinating the work of staff; monitoring the hiring of registrants to insure that the hiring conforms to the provisions of the Waterfront Commission Act and Rules and Regulations of the Waterfront Commission and are consistent with the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement; supervising the preparation of daily activity reports, and statistical and informational reports in connection with hiring and licensing activities, and obtaining information required in connection therewith; reporting to superiors any activities by licensees, registrants or other persons which violate the Waterfront Commission Act, its Rules and Regulations and local, state and federal law; assisting registrants and licensees and hiring agents in the filing of Commission forms; providing employment and licensing information as required; acting as a courier of forms, reports, and supplies; and perform the duties of all subordinated in their absence.
Must be capable of operating word processing applications and other data processing systems utilized
in hiring and licensing procedures.
Must be capable of managing others. Prior managerial experience preferred.
Must be ability to prepare and maintain concise written records and statistical reports.
Must be capable of communicating clearly with others and be tactful and courteous in dealing with fellow employees and the public.
Must demonstrate a diligent and prompt record of attendance.
Must provide own transportation to and from job.
Graduate of an accredited high school or possess a high school equivalency diploma. Graduation from an accredited College or University a
plus, but is not required.
