MANAGER OF CLIENT INFORMATION


 


Position Summary:


 


Midwest Employers Casualty Company (MECC) seeks a Manager of Client Information for our main office in Chesterfield, MO.  This position is responsible for the Client Information Unit (CIU), a centralized unit with sole responsibility for the collection, processing, storage and distribution of claim and medical payment data to provide timely and accurate data to internal departments.


 


Primary Responsibilities:


 



  • Manage the company wide collection of data from external sources, such as third party administrators (TPAs), brokers, insureds, insurance carriers, bill review companies and other parties. 
  • Ensure there is quality in the data collection process from all parties.
  • Transform the data collected into a useable and consistent format to be disseminated throughout the various departments of the organization.
  • Manage the use of the data collected to improve the operations of the departments requiring data access. 
  • Serve as a “stakeholder relationship manager” to ensure communication with all stakeholders is interactive, open and reciprocal.
  • Train all parties on necessary aspects of the CIU applications including data conversion and data clean-up requirements. 
  • Assess business needs by consulting with key stakeholders to understand challenges, define requirements, and translate the functional and technical specifications into deliverables.
  • Manage a team of CIU employees, including assigning workload across resources and providing job-related performance feedback.
  • Develop and coach CIU team on best practices and industry standards for technical and data-related processes, including maintaining a library of process-related documents and training materials.
  • Provide client service and technical support, including data analysis, account design, custom reporting, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:




  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required.


  • Effectively lead, coach, supervise, cross-train and evaluate all reporting staff, coordinate work with other internal departments and align departmental performance standards with corporate strategy.


  •  Independently manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced environment using advanced time management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Ability to critically evaluate and document business requirements requests from internal customers and execute detailed solutions/requirements.


 


Customers:




  • Advanced teaming abilities required to build consensus with various functional teams to determine data needs, develop action plans and gain buy-in and support for delivery of results.


  • Advanced negotiation and persuasion skill, particularly with outside parties to obtain results when no direct reporting relationship exists.


  • Intermediate knowledge of the job responsibilities and standards of performance for Actuarial Pricing Technicians/Analysts and Claims Analysts.


  • Basic knowledge of the job responsibilities and standards of performance for Regional Sales personnel, Client Services Account Managers.


  • Advanced communications skills, both verbal and written, relative to building and maintaining rapport with internal customers and contacts at TPA's and in communicating MECC's data needs to TPA's.


  • Advance knowledge of TPA's.


  • Intermediate knowledge regarding MECC's brokers and how these brokers are related to and/or interact with assigned TPA's.


  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of CIU layouts related data warehouse.

  • Intermediate knowledge of MECC's insurance products and services.


  • Intermediate knowledge of MECC's consulting products and services.


 


Technical Areas:




  • Advanced understanding of each required data element and how the elements relate to each other.


  • Intermediate understanding of how each required data element is used to produce deliverables.


  • Intermediate knowledge of database terminology and concepts.


  • Intermediate knowledge of types of electronic formats for sending data and what is acceptable versus preferable to MECC.


  • Basic knowledge of hardware/operating systems/network communication protocols used by MECC and TPA's.


  • Disciplined time management across multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
