Position:  Manager of Quality Assurance (QA) & Special Projects            


 



FUNCTION OF THE JOB


To support and ensure the high quality of development and maintenance of software based systems which meet the requirements of the customers unique business needs. Ensure all applications are in compliance with existing standards, documented, properly tested and controlled to maintain data integrity. 


 


INTERACTION


·        Reports to the DVP of Store Systems.


·        Extensive interaction with the Director of POS and the Technical Support Manager as well as other team members at both the managerial and support levels.


·        Significant interaction with customers throughout the company, including store personnel and other corporate center departments.


 


SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Primary Functions)


·        Responsible for managing the lab environment to ensure every system is available for testing. 


·        Responsible for managing the application software change control process.


·        Responsible for managing the execution of test scripts to test software for compliance within the technical specifications received.


·        Responsible for ensuring documentation and specifications received are up-to-date for the code within programs.


·        Responsible for managing the entire pricing cycle to ensure all promotional event requirements are reviewed, tested and delivered with all levels of signoffs.


·        Responsible for the Configurator environment (managing the change process). 


·        Assists in developing and implementing standards, procedures, and all required controls for IS department and for customers as needed.


·        Assists in developing and implementing process improvements for IS department and for customers as needed.


·        Develops plans, direction and strategies for the IS department in regards to the QA area of focus.


·        Responsible for development and fostering of good working relationships with customers, internal development team and vendors.


·        Develops and implements plans for employee supervision and performance, recruits candidates for positions, and acts as a mentor and coach to team members.


·        Perform other duties as assigned.


 


SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Secondary Functions)


·        Backup support for corporate server applications (Transnet, ER, EJ, and Fraudwatch).


·        Backup support for TransactionWare GM. 


·        Assist our customers in analyzing business needs to develop requirements for specific projects.


·        Work with SAP or other third parties to ensure project requirements (to include production issues) are clearly communicated as required.


 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES


·        Supervise QA team members through hiring, performance appraisals, pay rate reviews, delegating, promoting, coaching, counseling and terminating as needed.


  


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


·        Position requires employee to be able to perform professional office duties, such as prolonged use of a personal computer, periodic phone usage throughout the day, and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.


 


 


QUALIFICATIONS


·        High School Diploma or equivalent is required; 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience is desired.


·        Experience with SAP POS is required.  Project management experience is desired.


·        Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodology and procedures.


·        Knowledge of POS hardware and software troubleshooting.


·        Working knowledge of office software products, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.


·        Must have excellent organizational skills.


·        Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills with fluency in English.


·        Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required.


·        Excellent cognitive skills with an emphasis on attention to detail are required.
