Supplier Quality Assurance Manager Aerospace

This is a 4 to 6 month contract at which time candidate based on performance will be hired on directly. We are not seeking contractors yet those seeking to remain with the company at the close of the contract period.

Overview:
Responsible for planning, budgeting and controlling projects and processes that are pertinent to new part planning/ introduction, supplier selection, approval, development, performance measurement and improvement. Responsible for people development and individual growth. This position will aggressively move key supplier base to "dock to stock" status through the application of lean six sigma methodologies.

• Manage the supply chain QA activities to reduce variability, increase throughout reliability, on-time delivery, improve cost performance, and provide end to end visibility and control to the entire supply chain utilizing Quality Engineering principles.
• Focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, data collection, and reporting, along with Supplier Corrective and Preventative Action related to material quality issues.
• Support supply chain management with additional Supplier Selection and Qualification as business dictates.
• Facilities part/process qualification within supplier facility.
• Perform bill of material reviews to identify potential risk with products.
• Create first article acceptance plans and methods.
• Develop and implement material inspection plans and methods for supplied material.
• Provide leadership in technical problem resolution.
• Support the identification and qualification of new materials to meet business and performance challenge to include lower cost, high frequency, lead-free, etc.
• Work with engineering, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition form concept to prototype to production of new products.
• Support domestic and global out-source activities as business dictates.
• Maintain approved supplier list.
• Publish periodic supplier performance report.
• Manage receiving and shipping inspection.

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Quality Assurance
• 5 years of Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance dealing with electro-mechanical manufacturing operations, with at least one of those years in a regulated environment.
• ASQ certified Quality auditor or Quality Engineering highly desired.
