Job Responsibilities:

 

- Drive business results and customer satisfaction through consistent, integrated, on-strategy Conversion marketing communications that

position National Grid as a leader in energy management. 

 

- Lead a team of marketing communications professionals who are responsible for developing and implementing Conversion marketing communications strategies. 

 

- Optimize the marketing communications budget to efficiently deliver objectives.

 

- Implement communications processes that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Conversion marketing communications development and implementation. 

 

- Manage external communications agency relationships to create Conversion marketing communications that deliver upon strategies and drive results.   

 

Strategy Development and Implementation

- Lead development of innovative Conversion marketing communications strategies based upon marketing strategies. 

 

- Lead a client/customer focused team that develops efficient and effective Conversion marketing communications strategies and moves them through to execution.

 

- Consistently monitor the marketplace (utilizing internal and external resources) – understand Conversion target audience and marketing communications trends and apply that knowledge to recommend new marketing communications strategies/vehicles.

 

- Help increase customer satisfaction through the development and implementation of attention getting, simple, clear, useful Conversion marketing communications. 

 

 

Process Management

- Work with team members to implement a marketing communications process which facilitates the efficient development and execution of Conversion marketing communications.

 

Marketing Communications Performance Management

- Ensure learning from Conversion communications efforts is tracked and utilized within the organization and that learning from previous communications efforts is incorporated into future efforts. 

 

Agency Management

- Manage marketing communications agency relationships for development of Conversion communications. 

 

Financial Management

- Recommend budgets for Conversion communications efforts – ensure all dollars maximize business results as efficiently as possible. 

 

Culture Transformation

- Help lead cultural transformation of marketing organization. 

 

- Ensure all personnel work through the leadership qualities and are driven by customer intelligence and financial strategic thinking.

 

- Ensure financial management becomes a critical component of the Conversion marketing communications strategy.

 

Personnel Development

- Develop a team which collaborates and works closely with all areas of marketing in particular Marketing Strategy and Intelligence & Metrics.

 

- Develop team of Conversion marketing communications “specialists” and provide coaching to assist them in achieving functional mastery and their respective accountabilities. 

 

Job Qualifications:

 

- Marketing or Marketing Communications degree required (MBA a plus)

 

- 4+ years of marketing communications and branding experience required (experience with a major consumer products or services company a plus)

 

- Experience in both residential and business marketing communications strategy development

 

-  Experience in managing a marketing communications plan that included multiple media vehicles

 

- Experience in managing a marketing communications process and agencies

 

- Experience in managing a marketing communications budget of at least $4MM

 

- Experience in metrics and marketing research (in the context of branding and marketing communications)

 

- Experience in managing personnel (at least 2 direct reports) – demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a marketing communications team to meet client needs and achieve results

 

- Strong Communications (inc: Listening) and Conflict Resolution skills; leadership and cross function Collaboration skills – proven ability to build consensus for recommended ideas and projects and work effectively with peers and clients
