Position Description: Job Summary: The Manufacturing / Assembly Engineer would be a self-directed individual and will perform production planning, scheduling, MRP/MES management and analysis and application of manufacturing engineering and theory of constraints to optimize production performance to meet ultimate goals for productivity and cost. The position will be involved with implementing Lean processes throughout the operations and would be responsible for maintaining the lean, and quality programs, 5S-operation, and continuous improvements. Duties and Responsibilities: •Perform daily production planning and scheduling activities including setup of assembly lines, cells, and job shops. •Monitor and improve process parameters to ensure smooth operations and to minimize setup times (SMED-principle), and analyze capacity requirements and implement lean production scheduling practices •Lead process development efforts and transfer knowledge to setup manufacturing / assembly operations •Manage MRP- and MES-systems for optimal plant performance •Lead problem-solving analyses related to process failures (Statistical Process Controls) and recommend and implement processes to eliminate failures in processes •Develop standard costs for new product lines •Lead the efforts to setup and maintain procurements of parts, components, and consumables based on Kanban principles, and using EOQ procurement to ensure lowest TCO. Skills and/or Experience: •Minimum of 5 years experience in core industrial and production engineering activities like work study, labor-content analysis, bottleneck scheduling, constraint-based scheduling, time measurements, work and productivity standards, production planning •Minimum of green-belt certification in lean/6-sigma is required. Black-belt certification is preferable. •Experience in electro-mechanical industry and products in a manufacturing / assembly / distribution business is desirable •Hands-on experience with setting up MRP and MES applications and production / assembly environments is desirable. •Experienced with procurement of materials, components, and parts for electro-mechanical devices •Experienced with master planning and scheduling, resource and capacity planning, procurement planning and analysis, capital-based process implementation, •Ability to translate performance measures, metrics, and improvements to financial models Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Manufacturing / Production Engineering •MS / MBA preferred To Apply Visit Kuehne + Nagel We offer a competitive salary and a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision and 401(k) Plan with excellent company match.
