Manufacturing Engineer II

L-3 Communications Crestview Aerospace provides aircraft structures, major airframe assemblies and military aircraft modifications for leading Prime contractors and OEMs in the aerospace industry. Candidate will be responsible for Essential Functions
•Accountable for Process development, assembly involving, sheet metal details, riveting and threaded fasteners, first article and configuration changes, tooling changes, monitoring of tools requiring repair or replacement, and new product quotes.
•Identifies areas for application of advanced manufacturing technologies and improves manufacturing processes in support of the type design.
•Responsible for identifying engineering problems and initiating corrective action to ensure parts are in line with quality standards and production requirements.
•Develops requirements for assembly, tooling simulations, and manufacturing configurations.
•Resolves technical solutions to production problems.
•Provide technical information and support to Company suppliers and customers.
•Defines and develops sequence of operations that affect performance and tooling concepts.
•Produces the shop assembly manufacturing plan and design changes to the plan.
•Ability to define and translate engineering requirements and identify detail part configurations that support assembly process.
•Identifies activities required to incorporate Customer or Internal generated changes and develops implementation plan to insure proper implementation.
Apply knowledge of mechanics, materials, methods, and systems, with primary focus on manufacturing process improvement and variation.
•Assist in Program Make/Buy plan generation and sustainment.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace + 2 years experience.
Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required.

The physical requirement of the job (e.g. Bending, lifting, overhead work): Must be able to walk for particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Will have substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 20 pounds. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Will be subject to noise, vibration. Will be subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Will be subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skins such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Must be able to communicate effectively.
