Position Summary            

Best in class industrial products manufacturer is seeking a hands on process/ manufacturing or Industrial engineer to support their manufacturing operation, focusing primarily on process improvements.  The opportunity is a product of record orders and many new process installations and improvements.  Position reports to the Manager of Advanced Product Development.  Client’s plant is located in NE Iowa

Responsibilities

·          Using Lean manufacturing tools recommend improvements in production methods, standards, tooling, procedures, equipment, layout, product design and employee efficiency

·          Focus on improvements in output quantity, cost reduction, safety improvement, quality improvement, morale improvement

·          Support all phases of engineering projects from concept creation through production implementation and support

·          Verify the accuracy of current procedures, BOMs, routings. Initiate related changes using the existing engineering change order process

·          Initiate engineering change orders per the existing procedure

·          Lead cross functional teams to ensure timely product launches

·          Conduct testing and studies for process, specification and product improvements

·          Lead FMEA teams

·          Manage daily production and equipment line issues

Qualifications-mandatory               

·          BS degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related technical field required

·          3+ years related professional work experience as a manufacturing or process engineer

·          Highly organized

·          Self directed

·          AutoCAD and/or Solid Works competent

·          Hands on PLC programming experience

·          Good communication skills

·          Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

·          Collaborative, not dictatorial in nature

·          Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint) required

·          Small company experience, successful candidate will wear many hats each day

Qualifications- desired

·          Leadership skills experienced in directing and motivating production work teams

·          Ability to provide clear direction in a work environment

·          Six Sigma belted
