Manufacturing Engineer

About the Job

NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc., a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks and a subsidiary of NACCO Industries, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Berea, KY Plant.  NACCO Materials Handling Group produces industrial lift trucks under both the Hyster and Yale brand names. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Evaluate and resolve manufacturing problems.
  • To review engineering documentation for manufacturability and to support transitioning projects to production.
  • Review new and existing designs for manufacturability improvements for cost reduction and improved quality.
  • Review of all documentation in preparation for release to production and recommend changes or improvements as needed including ECN process.
  • Oversee first production unit for newly released product; maintain and update manufacturing assembly procedures; maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods.
  • Determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications and requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison between various functions and manufacturing.
  • Develop/maintain shop floor documentation within MES.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years experience in highly technical manufacturing environment, material handling design and/or manufacturing experience is a plus.

·         Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical/electronic components and circuitry.

·         Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an assembly and fabrication environment.

·         Knowledge of Industrial Engineering processes (i.e. lean manufacturing, ergonomics, facility design, motion/time study, simulations, etc.)

·         Prefer DFT knowledge and experience

·         Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, CAD/CAM, and PRO-E.

·         In-depth understanding of ISO and lean manufacturing.

·         Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

·         Strong  interpersonal skills; and the ability to work with minimum supervision
