Job Function:
Estimates, plans & designs manufacturing processes, fixturing/tooling, and programs CNC machining centers for all manufacturing work throughout the plant. Understands the customer's requirements and ensures that developed manufacturing processes will meet them within budgeted times and costs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for ensuring processes can meet quality & Productivity goals via the job
router.
2. Implement new manufacturing processes to improve productivity.
3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
4. Maximize efficiencies by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, manufacturing
processes, fixturing & tooling, and work force utilization.
5. Maintain an environment of continuous process improvement and implement
new technology to keep competitive.
6. Program CNC Vertical, Horizontal & Lathe machining centers.
7. Interface with customers and vendors (as required) to verify drawing dimensions,
quality requirements, and design interpretation.
8. Design special tooling & fixturing as required.
9. Perform other duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
1. College degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent on-the-job training.
2. Working knowledge of tool design.
3. Knowledge of Solisworks CAD and CAM software.
4. Extensive metal cutting experience.
5. Minimum 7-10 years machine shop experience.
