This position will provide primary engineering support for assigned manufacturing departments.  This individual will also be responsible for root cause problem solving and resolution to manufacturing issues.  In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for maintaining a process strategy, including equipment selection and maintenance, plant layout, tooling and operator training, for the focused factory area.  The position is responsible for continuous improvement (Kaizen) of processes to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met.


 


Key Responsibilities:  




  • Drive process improvements and ensure appropriate capital equipment and technologies are utilized.


  • Prepare detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.


  • Develop processes, procedures and tooling used to produce final assembly products and related sub-assemblies and new products.


  • Train production personnel as needed on process changes and improvements.


  • Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and revised products by establishing goals, training team members, and tracking results.


  • Perform research, cost justification and execution of new manufacturing processes, layouts, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.


  • Support the strategic objectives of the business through special projects.

 


Requirements




  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering


  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment


  • Demonstrated experience managing new product introduction to manufacturing


  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required


  • Excellent problem solving skills


  • A bias for action and driving change
