COMPANY: This world class client is a very well respected leader in the medical device / surgical instrument market. They've been around for over 40 years and have solid market share in the medical device industry. Their products (and their management and engineering team) are considered "Mercedes" grade. As the company continues to grow, opportunities are limitless for motivated individuals.  

POSITION:  The position will be responsible for designing and developing new surgical products and making changes / revisions to existing products including (but not limited to) Orthopedics, Arthroscopy, ENT, General Surgery, Gynecology, Spinal Products, and Surgical Instruments. As a manufacturing engineer you would process validations for all new product introductions, help transition all new products into full scale production and be responsible to design and develop all fixturing  Primary responsibilities include Design for Manufacturing (DFM), fixture design, process development, process validation, troubleshooting and debugging manufacturing problems (in-house and supplier), assisting with production related activities, equipment maintenance, and process improvements.​   Experience with, DOE, SPC, and Industrial Statistics, and Solid Works or equivalent CAD software is helpful.​ Basic understanding of regulatory requirements for medical device design control and manufacturing desired.  These products will all, of course, comply with validation of manufacturing processes per FDA design controls. You will research and integrate new materials and processes and may conduct or assist with pre-clinical and clinical studies. Additionally, you will help to transition new products into manufacturing.  

REQUIREMENTS: Must have 2+ years designing or developing products for the medical device industry. Companies an appropriate candidate may have worked for include ACMI, Aesculap, Cardinal,  Conmed, Covidien, Cooper Surgical, Karl Storz, Smith & Nephew, Olympus, Pentax, Richard Wolf, Ethicon Endosurgery, UTI, Medsource, Avail, etc. Must have 4 year degree, BSME preferred but not mandatory. Must have solid CAD experience (AutoCAD, ProEngineer, Solid Modeling etc.)  Think you have what it takes?
