BAE Systems is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to manage a team of process and manufacturing engineers who are responsible for developing, qualifying, documenting and supporting manufacturing processes and tooling for the production of Circuit Card Assemblies in our Space Electronics manufacturing facility in Manassas Virginia.
As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will:
- Interact closely with Mechanical and Engineering, emphasizing and driving towards 'Producibility' of product designs for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with the Program Office and Quality Assurance, as well as interact with external customers to ensure compliance to program and product requirements flowed down during Technical and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.
- Execute specific non-recurring and recurring engineering tasks that support the assembly of hardware for individual contracts associated with the Space Electronics Solutions line of business.
- Define, develop and qualify processes required for assembly of product as well as selection, installation, and qualification of equipment required to support these processes.
- Drive the design for manufacturing concept as a producibility function to ensure circuit card designs are compatible with manufacturing tools and processes.
- Generate and maintain documentation supporting the manufacturing operations.
- Supervise employees conducting the manufacturing engineering tasks associated with the Manassas Circuit Card Manufacturing operation.
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Scientific field from an accredited college or university or its equivalent; usually a minimum of eight (8) years work experience; or a Master's Degree and seven (7) years experience; or a Ph.D. and four (4) years experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in Circuit Card manufacturing that includes surface mount technology.
Preferences:
1-2 years of leadership or management experience. Prior experience working in the Space Systems industry.Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing Techniques (DFM)Strong communication and presentation skills.
