SUMMARY
This position performs plant accounting duties, audits, utilizes product costs
to determine manufacturing variances, compiles and analyzes production reports.
Also prepares budgets/forecasts and evaluates actual performance. Functional
responsibilities and reporting requirements vary with individual plants based on
size and complexity of operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Responsible for the monthly manufacturing operations financial close of assigned
location(s). Interprets, analyzes, and reports manufacturing operating results
as they affect the financial aspects of the organization.
Front line administrator of internal accounting control policies and procedures.
Participate in audits and evaluations of policies and procedures.
Support manufacturing and financial teams in efforts to attain financial
operational goals including the reduction of Working Capital, and Inventory
turns management
Provide support and guidance to Tactical Cost Reduction Team(s) and leader of
Operations Cost Reduction Support Team (s).
Support financial reporting requirements of Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
Responsible for preparation of plant manufacturing operations budget, capital
budgets and forecasts.
Review, analyze and present the manufacturing operations and capital
budgets/forecasts forecasts.
Point person for the annual physical inventory at assigned location(s).
Coordinate physical count in conjunction with plant and corporate team members.
Perform actual counts and reconcile results to inventory listings.
Provide support for plant capital expenditures requests for assigned
location(s).
Tracking of capital project spending for monthly analysis/reporting. Support
Fixed Asset Accountant, as required.
Assist in the improvement of existing tools/processes related to plant
operations reporting and the development of new tools/processes used to analyze
and report manufacturing and forecast variances.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. - BS/BA - required
3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment
Strong background in cost accounting
CPA, CMA or MBA desirable.
