Primary Function
The Process Technician is the Technical Resource within the Manufacturing Lab and A key resource in ensuring the successful production of manufacturing of quality eyewear.
- Acquires and maintains a detailed understanding of the product, process and equipment in the manufacturing lab.
- Demonstrate a high degree of discipline, integrity and work ethic to members of the manufacturing team.
- Directs activities of manufacturing technicians.
- Enforces process disciplines.
- Resolves process problems utilizing established problem solving methods, technical resources and by
- working with manufacturing associates, management, and outside vendors, which is required to effect minimum downtime and maximum process yields.
- Executes daily production plans managing the work flow to ensure timely completion of production
- schedule while maintaining high quality and low breakage.
- Controls the use of labor, process supplies and tools to meet plan budgets.
- Maintains supply inventory, process tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure proper functioning and
- optimum throughput at all times.
- Performs all necessary routine maintenance, including planning and tracking, utilizing maintenance
- management software.
- Assists in the development and execution of training plans in conjunction with manufacturing supervisor.
- Maintains and reports production data.
- Provides support and maintains open communication with facility management staff.
- Ensures that hourly established production goals and standards are being met in conjunction with Memphis facility and other labs, and the manufacturing supervisor.
- Maintains calibration log per ISO standards for all manufacturing equipment.
- Maintains production reports, logs, charts, or other tracking tools as required.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
- Supports team so as to consistently meet Key Operating Measures such as Quality Control, Breakage
- Cost/Rx, Equipment Utilization, Attendance, and On-time shipment.
- Demonstrates and utilizes continuous improvement techniques to exceed minimum standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree in a technical field or its equivalent experience with 5 years experience in a process or manufacturing leadership role.
- Competent in Microsoft applications, demonstrated ability to maintain a disciplined structured work environment.
- Experience in high speed manufacturing, lean manufacturing/continuous flow operations, military background with training in a technical field and basic understanding of and respect for electricity preferred
ADDITIONA REQUIREMENTS
- Physically able to work a 10-12 hour days
- Able to stand for entire shift.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. Repeatedly
