Manufacturing and Tool Design Engineer
Designs processes, designs mechanical systems, coordinates existing manufacturing processes. - Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. Evaluates customer parts and/or designs forging/machining tooling to produce the parts in the most economical way.
- Creates AutoCAD plans for Tooling-&-Dies used in Upsetters to forge metal parts.
- Reviews existing Tooling-&-Die designs for improvements.
- Analyzes and estimates work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confers with management and supervision concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
- For design of tooling for manufacturing of products.
- For establishing process cycle times and striving to improve them.
- Identifying and driving process improvement initiatives.
- Leading and/or participating in the design or updates of equipment used in production processes.
- Provide support to production processes to ensure quality parts are made in the most efficient manner.
- Assist Materials Group in the production planning process.
- Provide technical information required during the Request for Quotation process.
- Team member in the development of Process FMEA.

Job Requirements:
At least 3 years experience tool and die design. 4 year mechanical engineering degree from accredited university; and 3-5 years related experience or training.
