LOCAL ONLY

• Measures and fits metal and/or resin chocks for large machinery such as generators, main engines, reduction gears, etc.
• Overhauls, repairs, installs and aligns main propulsion units, diesel/steam turbines, propellers, shafts and other major auxilliary shipboard equipment.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical components to include: pumps, motors, valves, windlass systems, gear reduction systems and hatches/water tight door systems.
• Manage Outside Machinist crews on board Navy Ships.

REQUIREMENTS:

• MUST HAVE SUPERVISOR EXPERIENCE
• Must pass a drug screen
• Must have at least 7-10 years experience in the shipyard as an Outside Machinist
• Must have reliable transportation
