Marketing Communications Manager Mason, OH 45040
Working with marketing and product line colleagues, the Marketing Communications Manager will assist with the tracking and management of the Harris Transmission, Test & Measurement, and Graphics’ product line marcom programs, including collateral, advertising, direct marketing and promotions. Develops cohesive budget and marcom plans for products by working with colleagues in product marketing and marcom. Maximizes and advises how to achieve brand awareness and conducts appropriate studies, locates research as needed for business lines. Develops, implements, manages and collaborates with Product Line Marketing to develop company messages for activities directly associated with product lines. Reviews, writes and edits copy to ensure messaging and Harris standards are being met. Manages and edits the production of collateral including company brochures, data sheets, product marketing documents and pricing guides, keeping projects on strict timelines. Develops ad plan briefs. Manages projects with graphics and writing production teams, or outside vendors, to efficiently use resources as needed, maximizing messaging and brand look and feel throughout all collateral, direct mail and PR. Maintains workflow by communicating with Web copywriters/editors and agencies as directed. Facilitates communications among departments and all contributors. Receives guidance from marketing department managers; exercises judgment within broadly defined policies and practices, selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Willing to travel (about 6 trips per year)
Qualifications: College degree or equivalent experience is preferred; BA/BS in English, journalism, communications, marketing or other applicable field. 5 years experience managing marketing communications projects at technology-related company(ies). Understanding of essential elements of effective marketing communications campaigns (collateral, PR, advertising, direct marketing, Web, etc.) Highly developed writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
Preferred Additional Skills: Demonstrated success, with growing levels of responsibility, at global, business-to-business technology companies (television broadcast system vendors highly desirable). Demonstrated problem-solving skills, independent when appropriate. Development, writing, editing and proofreading of professional marketing materials. Customer focused for both internal department needs and external customer/market awareness. Experience using scheduling and software programs in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Demonstrated verbal communication and facilitation skills.
