Marketing Communications Specialist
About the Job
The BOSS Group is partnering with a Northern VA (Dulles Corridor) based technology organization to identify a highly motivated Marketing Communications Specialist candidate. As a member of this organization s Marketing and Communications team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and on-going support of marketing programs to support brand building at the corporate and product levels. Responsibilities:
- Support branding activities, public and media relations, conference development and oversight
- Involved in the creation and implementation of full-spectrum marketing programs and communication plans for multiple product lines
- Ensure projects meet milestones, deadlines and achieve established goals
- Participate in the development of marketing materials and communications vehicles that are in line with strategy, positioning, key messages, and brand identity guidelines
- Write for multiple marketing and communications collateral, identifying the target audience and crafting the appropriate message; translate technical concepts into clear features and benefits
- Review documentation and provide feedback on accessibility and comprehension
- Accountable for client facing event management, including material preparation for webcasts, webinars, and other virtual meetings
- Contribute to the planning, communicating and facilitating of industry meetings, conferences, forums and live events
- Develop web-based communication programs to support and promote industry knowledge
- Develop media connections to expand company s marketplace presence, monitor media for competitor positioning and recommend placement
- Build an understanding of the global marketplace and organization’s leadership role within it at a national and global level
- Develop and document a deep understanding of the features and benefits of organization’s solutions and how products can be effectively cross-marketed
- Analyze market needs in relation to business functions, monitoring and reporting on trends and industry direction
- Work with Marketing and Business Analysts to consolidate, analyze and publish monthly metrics across various external and internal sources
- Provide comprehensive internal customer support as requested, perform market research to support the development of business cases, presentations, market analysis, case studies and white papers
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business, marketing, communications or journalism
- 5-7 years of experience demonstrating increasing responsibility in the implementation of marketing programs in a corporate or commercial marketing environment
- Understands concept of brand development from a professional services perspective
- Broad marketing and communications background with strong branding experience
- Critical and strategic big picture thinker able to significantly contribute to developing a forward-leaning marketing global communications plan in order to develop strong global brand
- Excellent business writing skills with ability to write for both print and on-line developing white papers, positions, features and benefits layouts
- Highly organized with strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience managing deliverables for multiple clients simultaneously and adept and managing internal client expectations
- Strong Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills; ability to create formulas, pivot tables and charts in Excel and dynamic presentations in PowerPoint
- MS Access and database skills desired
- Understands traditional market analysis tools (Porter 5 Forces, Kano, Pugh, BCG Table, SWOT analysis) and can coach others on their usage and effectiveness
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Polished professional demeanor, comfortable working with a variety of cultures and business styles
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear ideas able to be grasped by general public.
- Solid understanding of media and public relations. Event marketing background a plus
- Familiarity with new Web media, including social networking and web presentation technologies (webinars, podcasts, computer-based training)
- Ability to lead cross functional team meetings and presentations
