Brief Overview:

The Marketing Communications Writer responsible for conceptualizing, researching, drafting, editing and proofing materials for both print and non-print media.

Essential Job Functions:

• Researches and writes internal and external communications, and general marketing communications content


• Create material for internal & external communications including press releases, and feature stories


• Develops creative campaign materials and tools for sales and marketing departments


• Manage various large scale communications projects including writing content, editing and proofing brochures, Web content, white papers etc as assigned


• Develop and implement corporate communications to increase the awareness and favorable image of AMX and our sales channel


• Represent AMX and build media relations via telephone, email and tradeshows to promote products and services, pitch customer profiles/projects, and advance AMX management team to the industry/public


• Collect information and work with customers to produce profiles/application stories that bring their stories and testimonies to life


• Develop and articulate corporate messages in a clear, concise, consistent manner


• Communicate with Product Management, Product Marketing and Training groups to ensure consistent communication and eliminate duplication of effort


• Translate technical data and piece information together into marketing content and materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or Business


• 2 to 5 years experience writing in the technology sector


• Experience writing press releases


• Must have an understanding of, and affinity with, technology products


• Experience representing the company to customers, media, etc.


• Experience with trade media and a proven track record in procuring media placements


• Impeccable writing and editing skills


• Excellent communication and client interface skills


• Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines
