The Operations & Finance Specialist will participate in activities and studies to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of GSI interactive, an organization within GSI Commerce that includes; marketing, web design, studio services, account management, and product management. This role is a hybrid of business operations and finance as the two functions are closely intertwined within the organization. This position will provide an opportunity to gain a robust understanding of how the entire business operates.
Activities may include:
- Document and update business processes and procedures that are used throughout the organization.
- Assist in utilization and employee performance reporting.
- Run reports from vendor sites and assist in preparation of marketing reports and analysis used throughout the business.
- Actively engage in the month-end client billing process by working closely with the Client Services and Finance teams to gather information and prepare project invoice templates.
- Work with accounting to create and maintain department purchase order requisitions and vendor invoice processing.
- Uphold vendor communication and maintain up-to-date accounts.
- Assist in the company's annual budgeting process and all quarterly forecasting cycles.
- Drive the contract management workflow process for the organization and ensure all proper documentation is received, stored, and communicated as required.
- Assist upper management with expenditure requests and ad hoc analysis when requested.
- BA/BS Degree, preferably in a business related major
- 0-2 years of related work experience
- Strong organizational skills, able to meet deadlines, self starter, detail oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and in a team.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office
- PeopleSoft financial software and related applications a plus
