Reporting to the Principal Marketing Manager of Optometry,  the Marking Manager primary focus will be on developing and executing the consumer strategy for the optomap.  Additionally, the Manager will have secondary responsibility for marketing into the trade channel of Primary Eye Care providers (optometrists and ophthalmologists). The key goal is to find new ways to improve the overall usage of the optomap (eye care screening technology) in our current and future installed base of customers.

Key Responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute consumer platform for optomap. Identify key insights, develop positioning, build key messages and develop compelling advertising to build awareness of the need for optomap exams and drive patients to our installed base of locations. Identify novel opportunities for partnerships and effective ways of reaching target audience (co-branding, rebates, other Direct To Consumer (DTC) approaches).

Execution of Consumer Plan: Lead the process to deliver key messages via different channels to target audience of patients seeking eye care. Develop and execute overall media strategy, digital marketing strategy and relationship marketing strategy. Work closely with Public Relations firm to ensure alignment of messaging to media and leverage PR activities to support consumer plan.

Working cross-functionally within the organization to drive effective utilization programs for our medical device across the installed base.


 


Working with field sales team to determine key needs and deliver new asset utilization solutions into the market.


Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree. Preference given for MBA or advanced degree

- A minimum of 5-6 years progressive marketing experience with a focus on consumer marketing. Marketing experience in consumer products preferred. Medical Device or Pharma  experience at targeting consumers is not a requirement, but experience with this is a benefit.  

- Strong knowledge of consumer marketing practices, including awareness campaigns, direct to consumer advertising, media strategy & execution, relationship marketing, digital/e-marketing practices, public relations strategies, and patient education models

- A strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment

- An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of innovation, ingenuity and creativity

- Results oriented and excellent analytic, strategic, business planning, communication and collaboration skills

- The ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment
