What you will do


Under general direction, the Master Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and implementing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while optimizing inventory.


This position is responsible for providing the plant with a weekly production plan consistent with the plant´s capacity and sales forecast.  The planner is responsible for determining the necessary inventory levels for finished goods and supporting materials including safety stock levels. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, engineering releases, historical consumption and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans, weekly, for a rolling 3-month period. Perform detailed production planning and scheduling activities to insure the timely execution of production plans.


How you will do it

  • Manage BES ERP master data for production

  • Generate and maintain the Master Production Schedule using a variety of inputs such as sales orders, historical data, sales forecasts, and inputs from the Sales & Operations team

  • Analyze and direct the movement of finished goods inventories to help control customer demand variability and over-aged product.

  • Load, maintain and analyze demand forecasts (including OE releases) and develop production schedules to support them.  Controls the inventory of assigned production parts/materials in accordance with management objectives and to ensure total customer satisfaction within required timeline, and total cost constraints.

  • Perform rough-cut Capacity Planning and maintain production capacity parameters.

  • Provide lead times to the Customer Service team regarding Available to Promise date for customer demand fulfillment.

  • Manage material and production exceptions to meet consistently customer requirements on time.

  • Analyze the capability of tooling and equipment to meet required volume mix and recommend corrective action as required

  • Develop master production plan (monthly) to ensure capacity matches sales forecast and review it (weekly).

  • Plan and support product line changes and new product introduction, including identifying obsolete material and subsequent costs.

  • Follow all line changes through to conclusion, including disposition of obsolete material.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of scheduling production and inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)

  • Organizational and problem solving skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Automotive Original equipment experience.

• APICS certification.
