Position Description:
The Material Clerk will assist in the execution of activities related to implementation of the production plan, review MRP II and demand flow system and release manufacturing orders and the needed components to production and control all MEDRAD Interventional Possis (MIP) inventory. They will interact with personnel from Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Documentation, Customer Service and Sales/Marketing departments and job tasks will be for every product line manufactured by the Company. Additional responsibilities will include:
1. Transferring inspected materials and production supplies to proper stocking locations in Stores; update and maintain stocking locations on computer system; break bulk on received lots and kit and label them into production lot size quantities.
2. Issue controlled inventory to employees for purposes of testing, qualification, set-up, demo etc. Maintain accurate records of all lots of MIP component, subassembly and finished goods inventory and verify quantity present matches quantity recorded on computer system.
3. Perform routine cycle counting of inventory and report cycle count results.
4. Maintain records of and order manufacturing supply items to be available as needed.
5. Create and release manufacturing orders for subassemblies and finished goods as suggested by the MRP II and demand flow systems in fulfillment of the production plan.
6. Generate all the necessary paperwork and issue needed parts and record all material issues to manufacturing orders, verifying that accurate lot traceability is maintained.
7. Perform all necessary computer transactions to update inventory records and verify against Matrix that manufacturing orders are of the proper revisions and call out all applicable Deviation Authorizations.
8. Maintain data file listing all orders released and assist elsewhere within the Inventory Control department as needed.
Technical & Behavioral Requirements:
1. Minimum of one (1) year inventory/stockroom experience and/or packaging/handling/order picking experience. Familiarity with PCs and data entry.
2. Prefer two (2) years medical industry inventory/stockroom experience in a FDA regulated environment and with experience utilizing an MRP II system to release internal work orders, track inventory, perform lot trace searches and transfer inventory between stocking locations.
3. Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO regulations applied to medical device handling and control.
4. Skilled at counting inventory units with high degree of accuracy and handling multiple priorities in order to keep assembly lines fully stocked and staged to meet the production plan.
5. Ability to weigh count using a scale, lift up to 50 pounds and climb a 6 foot ladder to storage shelf.
6. Ability to operate general warehouse equipment, i.e. lift truck, pallet jacks, loading dock levelers, tape guns, cartons, banding machines.
7. Ability to utilize various technologies to increase efficiency of tasks, i.e. bar codes, scanners, computer software (Windows, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word), label printers and label printing software.
