Material Handler

Purpose:

To ship, receive, kit, organize and manage all of the material and component parts that support the organization’s production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations

Essential Duties:

·         Consistently demonstrate ability to read and/or interpret material handling policies, procedures and technical guidance(s)

·         Receive and ship materials and finished product to and from the facility

·         Coordinate and execute movement of railcars to different locations in the plant

·         Effectively manage materials and schedules according to production schedules

·         Accurately count, place, stage and prepare material as required and complete work area related paperwork

·         Accurately document work area related information about product, material, quality, quantity, handling process, etc.

·         Interface with production teams  and share information as required

·         Maintain and comply with all regulatory compliance such as FRA, OSHA, EPA, ADAAA etc.

·         Follow all company  policies, procedures and safety rules

·         Maintain  work area in a clean and orderly condition

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma/GED

·         Experience using overhead cranes and forklifts is preferred

·         Experience in an assembly facility that use(d) thousands of parts is preferred

·         Strong communication skills, both written and oral

·         Strong documentation, planning and organizational skills

·         Proficiently use material handling equipment, such as:  forklifts, cranes, carts, pallet jackets, palletizers, tapers, etc.
Strong computer skills preferred
