Materials Engineer (Subsea)

UniversalPegasus is seeking a Subsea Materials Engineer to work on a full time basis in Houston, Texas

Position Summary: 
Materials SME to support subsea projects
Provide solutions in relation to materials for subsea structures, subsea pipelines and risers.
Provide expertise including preparing and reviewing materials procedures and specifications as required for subsea structures including pipelines, manifolds, PLETS/PLEMS jumpers and umbilicals.

Typical Responsibilities:
Mentor  and supervise less experienced engineers.
Provide Project support by preparing and reviewing materials procedures and specifications as required for subsea structures including pipelines, manifolds, PLETS/PLEMS jumpers and umbilicals
Provide technical support for procurement activities.
Ensure that technical compliance to specification documents is maintained during manufacture and fabrication.
Input into project Cost estimating related to materials
Liaise with clients, project team members, materials/equipment manufacturers, and subcontractors.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Site, Yard, fabrication facility visits

Technical Requirements:
Detailed knowledge within the welding and materials discipline with experience in and broad knowledge of offshore oil and gas industry requirements and practices.
Excellent team working skills
Ability to interface with several different project teams.

Desired Skills & Experience:
Ability to lead at all levels
Team player
Ability / Desire to mentor less experienced engineers.

Education & Experience:
Degree or post-graduate degree in Metallurgy/Materials Science and 8+ years relevant experience.
