Boardwalk Pipeline Partners is seeking to hire a Measurement Technician for the Flowood, MS facility.
This position is primarily responsible for the calibration, testing, operation, and maintenance of Gulf South’s measurement, over pressure protection and regulating facilities in the Jackson, MS area. These facilities include buried pipelines, buried valves, above ground piping assemblies, cathodic protection equipment right of ways, signage, positive meters, orifice meters, ultrasonic meters, gravitometers, flow computers, samplers, communications devices, over pressure protection, pressure regulating devices, valves, and actuators. This position may occasionally be required to assist at other nearby areas. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, performing emergency response procedures, performing regulatory compliance procedures, and performing repair procedures. This position will be required to respond to call-outs and will be part of the on-call rotation for the Jackson, MS Area for responding to emergency or abnormal situations. The position will be required to live within 30 miles and 30 minutes of the Flowood, MS facility in order to respond to call-outs expediently.
Basic Requirements:
2 to 5 years of gas pipeline or measurement operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with using a Personal Computer
Working knowledge of DOT Part 192 regulations
Excellent verbal communication and problem solving skills
A history of safe work
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and work in extreme weather conditions
Valid Mississippi Drivers License with a good driving record
Preferred Requirements:
5 (+) years of gas pipeline and measurement operations and maintenance experience
Education Requirements:
A minimum of a High School Diploma is required
An Associates Degree in a related field is preferred
