TITLE: Farm Mechanic

General Duties:

Repairs, overhauls and maintains vehicles, farm equipment and machinery. Operates equipment at times. Working conditions: Farm/well-equipped shop environment.

Duties:

• Perform tune-ups and routine maintenance on vehicles and farm equipment.


• R & R vehicle parts such as suspension, steering, brake, hydraulic, A/C, and electrical systems.


• Uses diagnostic equipment and experience in locating vehicle and equipment defects.


• Road test vehicles to prior to returning to active use.


• Maintain records on maintenance, repairs and purchases.


• Drive vehicles and operate equipment as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge and skill in the diagnosis and repair of automotive, heavy equipment or farm equipment.


• Skill in operating shop tools and machines.


• Ability to effectively communicate.


• Ability to work with minimal/no supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an Associates Program in automotive mechanics AND verifiable experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automobiles and/or farm equipment; OR,


• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.


• Valid Drivers License and acceptable DMV record.
