*Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical design, analysis and evaluation of disk drives. Will design components for the the enclosure system, which may include the spindle motor along with other components. Will oversee integration of mechanical components, and overall enclosure functionality and structural integrity. Design using CAD and FEA, and perform dynamic analysis of the system and components. Will plan and execute evaluations, analyze and report results, optimize designs, perform failure analysis and develop solutions. Will manage supplier and supplier processes, and work with internal manufacturing to produce manufacturable, cost effective and reliable designs. Will work cross-functionaly with the development organization, materials lab, manufacturing engineering, procurement and overseas production. Some travel may be required.

*Qualifications
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 5 years of experience in designing for high volume production. Solid fundamental mechanical engineering skills in the areas of mechanical design, mechanical FEA, component and drive level characterization, proficient in 3-D CAD, perform tolerance analysis, and experienced with Matlab. Should be familiar with test instrumentaion such as LDVs, structural dynamic analyzers, and accelerometers. Have worked with suppliers and familiar with manufacturing processes such as die casting, injection molding, stamping, machining and other high volume manufacturing methods. Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving and innovation. Strong team player, effective communication skills, and highly motivated.
