As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you would be responsible for designing high-pressure and low-pressure emergency oxygen systems including interior aircraft components. This position would be the focal for coordinating and monitoring all off-shore engineering tasks. This would include, but not be limited to the review of project schedules with internal engineers, aligning off-shore resources to meet scheduled deliveries, managing data transferal and reporting status of projects to management. The Engineer will develop product/functional designs, create digital models of aerospace products, and produce professional grade computer digital imagery and animation of product in aircraft interiors.
- Performs original design work after receiving design goal/problem, the general method of processing, and engineering advice on related theoretical aspects to be taken into account in the design.
- Solves routine engineering problems including simple stress analysis, heat transfer, vibration, acoustic isolation, strength/weight efficiency, availability of material, ease of fabrication, interchangeability and problems of related complexity.
- Prepares cost estimates for entire project or piece of equipment.
- Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes; may direct lower level designers/drafters including work assignments and coordination.
- Maintains a high-level focus on the product and processes to ensure that a low-cost quality product is delivered on time and as efficiently as possible.
- Performs other related duties as required

- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and up to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with facilitating off-shore resources for the completion of engineering tasks are a plus
- Exposure to Unigraphics and TeamCenter software is a plus.
- Familiarity with FAA and FDA requirements also a plus.
- Aptitude to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in report writing, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, clients, customers, and the general public.
