Hunter Engineering Company is a world leader in automotive service equipment, offering state-of-the-art wheel alignment systems, wheel balancers, lift racks, and more.  Hunter equipment is approved and used by vehicle manufacturers, automobile and truck dealers, tire dealers and automotive service facilities around the world.  We are currently searching for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers for our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

Job Summary:

Hunter's Mechanical Design Engineers are responsible for the development of machines for use in the automotive service industry.  Specifically, these positions will be responsible for taking machine design projects from conception through production release.  Typical tasks include developing mechanical components and subsystems through the process of investigation, specification development, design, analysis and testing.  Pro-Engineer is used for all design projects. 

Design includes the selection of part configurations, materials and manufacturing processes to achieve reliable function at low cost. Mechanical engineers are also expected to validate design through analysis and testing.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 to 7+ years machine design experience
• Component part design
1. Castings
2. Extrusions
3. Molded plastic parts

• Mechanism design
• Machined metal parts, material and heat treat
• Sheet metal fabrication

• Electro-mechanical system integration
• Balancing of rotating masses
• Pneumatics and hydraulics
• Structural Analysis
