The Mechanical Design Engineer in the R&D Group will:
Lead and contribute to prioritized product development projects
Effectively direct (and potentially lead) the work of other engineers and laboratory technicians to achieve objectives as necessary.
Identify, break down and solve complex problems, and provide technical direction to others.
Independently plan and execute to achieve design and development objectives.
Participate as a member of a cross-functional team or lead a cross-functional team to deliver to business-critical product development commitments.
This position reports to the Engineering Team Leader.
Responsibilities include:
Provide project leadership
Impact Project execution
Using expert technical skills, conceive, plan and lead development activities from concept through successful commercialization
Leverage understanding of first engineering principles, advanced engineering methods, data and judgement to influence the course of product development activities
Develops deep customer understanding and identifies unmet needs and potential new product concepts
The Mechanical Design Engineer will demonstrate basic and advanced engineering skills (including CAD with preferably 3-D experience). He will demonstrate skills in tolerance analysis.
Requirements:
Minimum of MS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
4 years of relevant experience, and/or PhD degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in product development lifecycle is essential.
Packaging experience is a plus
Understanding of disciplined product development processes and quality requirements, regulatory experience is a plus
Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Results driven and action oriented
