About the Job
Purpose: Under direct supervision, provides technical support in the generation and oversight of multi-system design models and drawings and other documentation required for the overall system configuration.Major Duties/Responsibilities: • Produces multi-system installation drawings and specifications.
• Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from layouts, rough or detailed sketches, electronic databases, or written or verbal instructions.
• Creates engineering drawings using computer-aided design (Pro-E and 3-D CAD) graphics workstation.
• Assists designers and engineers in taking field measurements and making sketches to assist in answering design, fabrication, or installation questions.
• Converts multi-CAD system subassemblies (Pro-E, AutoCAD) into integrated mechanical assemblies, under the direct supervision of designers.
• Checks detail drawings to assure compliance with engineering codes and drafting standards.
• Works with the Document Control Center (DCC) to help ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings in the DCC system.
• Ensures compliance with environment, safety, health, and quality program requirements, including ISMS.
• Maintains a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics.Qualifications Required: Associate’s degree in an engineering discipline, with a minimum of five years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and drafting experience required. Knowledge of the technical concepts of drafting plus basic engineering principles, codes, and standards is required. Must be familiar with ASME Y14.5M dimension and tolerance standards, including geometric tolerance and welding symbols. Experience utilizing Pro-E required. Familiarity with fabrication materials and their applications is desired.
