Job Description

Mechanical Engineer in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

 

Top 3 skill sets:

1. Experience in machinery, material handling equipment, customer goods or food processing equipment.

2. CAD package: AutoCAD with experience in complex parts assemblies, controls, electrical, schematics, etc.

3. Experience in custom designing equipment for customer’s applications.

 

Knowledge of process improvement, material flow technology, controls and software to reduce operational costs, maximize productivity, and optimize supply chain performance a large plus.

 

Duties include:

  • Creating complex designs of systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Creating material specifications and parts lists.
  • Schematic preparation.
  • Productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
  • Ability to multi-task between multiple projects.
  • Act as project manager for assigned projects .
  • Problem-solving skills  and PMP or Project Management skills required.

 

Education:

Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. BSME, BSEE, BS in Engineering Graphics or other related.

 

Years of experience:

5 + years of experience. Advanced degree may be substituted for experience, where applicable
