Job Description
Mechanical Engineer for HVAC design work with a leading Engineering – Construction – Operations Company. Experience in plumbing design works a plus.
Requirements
Work will involve:
· Design of HVAC and/or plumbing systems and associated component selection.
· Energy conservation, evaluation, and analysis
· Coordination of HVAC equipment, ductwork and piping layouts with architectural/structural designs and with other engineering disciplines to prevent conflicts during construction
· Coordination with equipment vendors and suppliers for selected equipment
· Equipment selection using on-line vendor supplied software and/or catalog information
· Conducting site visits to verify and document existing conditions
· Completing project tasks with established design budgets
Qualifications
· 8 to 10 years of experience as an engineer designing HVAC and plumbing systems (e.g., ductwork, air systems, DX, hydronic systems, domestic water & sanitary systems, gas piping, boilers, chillers, unitary systems, DDC control systems), equipment selection, HVAC calculations
· Building code and consulting experience for educational, government, and commercial facilities
· Candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (mechanical discipline)
· Membership in professional organizations preferred (e.g., ASHRAE)
· Proficiency in AutoCAD required; proficiency in mechanical design software required
· Familiarity with LEED, LEED AP a plus
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
