Position Description:
SRC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team of highly capable Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical Designers currently developing state-of-the-art radar, communication, and electronic warfare systems.
Responsibilities
• Candidate will work closely with engineers and technicians from multiple disciplines to develop and test mechanical designs for both our prototyping and manufacturing businesses
• Candidate will apply mechanical engineering best practices during the creation of complex mechanical drawings and assemblies which meet system level design requirements
• Candidate will be actively involved with vehicle integration, analysis, development, and validation at SRC and Government installations. Testing will be vehicle level and include system performance, environmental (thermal, shock, vibration, reliability, etc.)
Position Requirements:
• Experience with the design and development of extremely detailed mechanical systems
• Strong material properties and composites experience coupled with a working knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-1472
• Knowledge of 3-D modeling, structural/thermal analysis, design for shock & vibration, electro-mechanical design, writing specifications, and close tolerance requirements
• Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Experience with commercial or military vehicle packaging, radar, communications systems, electronic warfare
• Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineer (ASME) Y14 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
• Understanding of configuration management and design control
• Must have experience with SolidWorks (preferred), Pro E, or equivalent
• Master's degree is preferred
