POSITION PURPOSE:
- Provide engineering support to the organization through the design, development, implementation and analysis of technical products and/or systems for assigned projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS):
- Conducting site visits as needed.
- Assist in the production of specifications for various types of projects.
- Review and prepare cost and material needs estimates, proposals and completion dates for accuracy.
- Developing plans, specifications, and inspection reports, as needed on assigned tasks. Review other’s work to ensure that these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering principles and practices.
- Review and prepare work plans and proposals for projects assigned.
- Review and prepare statements of work for subcontractors.
- Participate in change management and remedy development during construction.
- Provide resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections and documenting findings and proposed solutions.
- Prepare project plans in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.
- Other duties that may be assigned based on one’s area of specialty.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1 or more years as an Engineer II or 5-7 years of similar outside engineering related experience;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 or more years as an Engineer II or 7-9 years of similar outside engineering related experience;
- Must have Professional Engineering certification.
- Fuels and Piping experience is preferred.
- LEED experience is preferred.
- Military design experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately.
- Familiarity with reference materials and where/how to find information needed in professional work.
- Ability to professionally represent the company verbally, in writing, and in person to clients, associates and all others that may have contact with.
- Ability to effectively work in a cohesive team working together to achieve project goals.
- Strong organization skills to effectively manage time and resources in the most efficient manner.
- Self starter to start, organize and complete assigned tasks with in specified time frame.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Director of Engineering or Design Manager.
- Ability to work independently
- May coordinate/supervise less experienced associates.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Moderate physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
- Must have valid driver’s license; be insurable on the company insurance and able to travel as required
