Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide resource to Mechanical Engineers and Designers in the assembly of electrical/mechanical sub-systems and test fixtures, modification of prototype parts, performing experiments and collecting data.
- Procure parts and materials to build prototype mechanical and electrical/mechanical hardware.
- Modify and or create prototype parts using common model shop equipment (milling machine, lathe, etc.).
- Assemble complex prototype models for testing.
- Analyze prototype models for performance and recommend corrective actions to design engineers and designers.
- Perform experiments and collect data as instructed by engineers and designers
- Provide mark-up drawings and updates as required.
- Review drawings for manufacturability and potential cost reductions.
- Assist in the inspection of the prototype parts as required.
- Actively supports and adheres to the Quality Policy and Quality System procedures.
Qualifications:
- The individual must have the ability to read mechanical drawings, use mechanical measurement (inspection) equipment and model shop machinery proficiently. Familiarity with x-ray technology helpful.
Education:
- Two year Mechanical Technical Training with 2 years experience in the manufacture and testing of capital equipment and sub-systems.
Experience:
- Two year Mechanical Technical Training with 2 years experience in the manufacture and testing of capital equipment and sub-systems.
