Mechanical/Materials Engineer needed with experience in the analysis of failures
of objects made of metal, plastics, ceramics, wood and composite materials, as
well as failures of welds and fasteners.
Duties may include:
•
Analyzing the failures of components of aircraft and automobiles, as well as
heavy equipment and ships involving gears, wire rope, pistons, and other
mechanical components.
• Analyzing failures of wet and dry pipe sprinkler
systems, other piping and plumbing components, as well as oil storage tanks and
propane cylinders.
• Analyzing failures caused by fatigue, corrosion, stress
corrosion cracking, hydrogen embrittlement, brittle fracture, ductile overload,
manufacturing and design deficiencies.
Job Requirements:
• Masters
degree or higher in Materials Science or related discipline.
• PE
registration desired.
