POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE:                          Mechanical Product Development Engineer

REPORTS TO:                    Engineering Manager

DIRECT REPORTS:           N/A

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dynapar Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical platform design to support the launch of new product development projects as well as enhancements to current product designs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mechanical enclosure design and analysis.
  • Mechanical rotary seal design and analysis.
  • Innovative ideas for unique solutions delivered to the market
  • Design for Manufacturing
  • Product FMEA
  • Project management from prototype through production release
  • Manage project timelines and ensure successful project completion.
  • Utilize Danaher Business System tools to drive Safety, Quality, and Cost objectives.

 


 

FIRST SIX MONTHS DELIVERABLES:

  • Support the design and launch of two new products for North American market.
  • Deliver daily mechanical engineering support to existing products
  • Visit 3 customers understanding application
  • Complete training on incremental and absolute encoders
  • Participate in 2 value engineering workshops

 

 

CAREER PROGRESSIONS / PROMOTABLE TO:

Career path opportunities include larger/more complex Engineering or Quality Manager positions.  Future positions could be in the Sensors and Controls Group or elsewhere in Danaher.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Minimum of five years of prior Mechanical Engineering experience

Working knowledge of ProE and FEA analysis

Working knowledge of rotary seal design and analysis.
