This engineering support position is an excellent opportunity that is available due to the success and continued growth of FMC’s product line targeting the poultry industry. Part of a multidisciplinary team and working from your home office, the individual we select can be based anywhere in the Greater Atlanta or generally the Southern US region. This key role is responsible for providing field engineering support for FMC’s Spectrum™ microbial control program including the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of peracetic acid storage and handling systems at poultry customers. This is a great opportunity to utilize your knowledge and skills in a role in which you will have the opportunity to travel to customer site in the eastern region. This position will be on road and travel 60-70% of the time along with occasional weekends.
Technical Support
- Provide routine and emergency engineering support and maintenance for peracetic acid handling systems deployed at poultry customers.
- Monitors and reports Spectrum inventory levels to assist with monthly billing.
- Provides competitive market intelligence and transfers this knowledge to the organization.
- Ability to perform and log titration data to confirm microbial efficacy
- Optimizes Spectrum program performance to ensure microbial efficacy and organoleptic quality.
- Builds relationships and communicates regularly with plant maintenance, quality assurance, and production personnel.
- Maintains an ongoing understanding of USDA, EPA & FDA regulations as they pertain to FMC products and applications.
- Assists in performing plant surveys and assists in the development and design of suitable application and delivery systems.
- Provides field support for plant start-ups including coordination of customer and third-party resources.
Technical Sales Support
Equipment
- Performs mechanical tasks such as pipe fitting, welding, and fabrication.
- Assembles and installs peracetic acid pumping equipment, trial equipment, and customer equipment with TSED.
- Provides customer training, oversight, and technical service including elements of safety, process safety, product use, storage, and handling.
- Shares information on a timely basis in support of poultry team activities.
- Coordinates field activities with TSED, customer, and third-party contractors.
- Work with TSED in order to coordinate timing delivery of FMC equipment to plants.
- Performs and assists in scheduling preventive maintenance services on FMC owned equipment.
Communications
- Provides customer training, oversight, and technical service including elements of safety, process safety, product use, storage, and handling.
- Shares information on a timely basis in support of poultry team activities.
- Coordinates field activities with TSED, customer, and third-party contractors.
Environment:
- Requires work in a poultry processing plant environment
- Requires overnight and some weekend travel – estimated at 60% - 70% with occasional weekends.

Education/Experience:
- BS Degree in engineering field (chemical/mechanical/electrical/industrial) with a working knowledge of chemistry.
- Technical service in Food Processing industry, experience in meat and poultry market strongly preferred.
- Basic proficiency with mechanical skills including pipe fitting and welding.
- Process engineering skills with design necessary.
- Ability to manage several projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Basic Understanding of control systems.
- Understands impacts of material compatibility (materials science course).
- Demonstrated ability to write and present clear and informative business and technical information.
