Do you have 3-5 years of experience working with machinery in a Manufacturing environment?

Can you diagnose, report, document, assemble and repair sub-standard equipment by troubleshooting to the sub-component level?

Are you skilled at:


  • Performing operational checks?
  • Inspecting and calibrating?
  • Modifying, testing and performing complex assembly on all Manufacturing equipment?

Position Summary:

As a Mechanical Technician, you will work in the production of automated packaging machines, mechanically assembling small part items and bolting onto the machine frame. Sorting of parts as well as use of hardware, small hand tools and power drills, etc. are required tasks in this position.

Additionally, the Mechanical Technician will:


  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform complex scheduled, unscheduled and emergency tasks on all Electromechanical equipment in order to meet all quality and production schedules assigned.


Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Technician:


  • Demonstrates the proper operation of all designated equipment.
  • Diagnoses, reports, documents, assembles and repairs sub-standard equipment by troubleshooting to the sub-component level.
  • Does the following on all designated equipment:


    • Prepares for use.
    • Performs operational checks.
    • Inspects and calibrates.
    • Modifies, tests and performs complex assembly.


  • Makes a significant technical contribution to process improvement initiatives, which will include taking a primary role in cross-functional teams.
  • Performs on-the-job training on designated equipment and explains how a task is performed or accomplished.
  • Demonstrates technical creativity by designing, documenting and communicating recommendations for equipment/process improvements or modifications.
  • Complies with all applicable HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), Best Practices and Maintenance Policies; and assists in training other levels of Technicians in these standards.
  • Reviews equipment performance issues by analyzing data for root cause identification.
  • Recommends corrective action and continuous improvement to prevent recurring problems.
  • Expends the majority of effort and time on designated equipment, but completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Skills for Mechanical Technicians include the following:


  • 3-5 plus years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong familiarity with Principles of Mechanics with knowledge of machinery
  • Technical Documents, Drawings and Schematics
  • Experience with Fundamental Electronics and Basic Digital Electronics helpful
  • Pneumatics experience
  • Organizational skills with ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have own hand tools in both metric and standard


Some elements can be demonstrated by a Technical Certification Program, an Associate's Degree in a technical field, or other verifiable educational or employment experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Capable of lifting and/or moving materials and equipment weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Able to maneuver palletized materials using manual material-handling equipment
  • Capable of standing/walking for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated visual acuity and manual dexterity in order to perform fine detailed work (e.g. soldering circuit boards)

  • SPFE Certification
