Media Applications Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Defining, integrating and supporting complex applications utilizing a wide range of technologies
• Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
• Recommend updates and improvements to existing systems
• Fix, improve and extend existing code bases
• Frequently called upon to solve problems; possesses strong problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

• A minimum of 2 or more years experience in web application development preferably from a recognized news/media company
• Strong Java/J2EE programming skills with Oracle back-end experience
• Good understanding of modern software architecture and approaches including:
    o CMS systems and integration
    o Media and Content delivery
    o Caching technologies
    o Web Services 
    o Search Engine Optimization
• Develops, applies, revises and maintains code and systems as necessary
• Ability to do all levels of hands on work in software engineering
• Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Requires a BS or equivalent experience
