The Front & Back Office Medical Assistant (CareMore's Clinical Partner), CareMore@Home (Conecticut) is responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the clinician. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides front and/or back office support, as well as in home support to provide a friendly, service-oriented manner in compliance with CareMore Care Center (CCC) or Anthem protocols and workflows. Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled and are prepared for patients' visits, patient data is current and accurate, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared. . Required to maintain accurate and complete documentation in patients' electronic medical record. Interviews patient, measures vital signs and records reason for visit. Under the supervision of the clinician, MA will be knowledgeable in, and will competently perform diagnostic testing, for example, spirometry, Arterial Brachial Index, Monofilament, orthostatic blood pressure. Explains procedures, performs treatments, and administers prescribed medication. Needs to be able to perform blood draws. Oversees patient check out by scheduling follow up appointments, assuring paperwork is complete. Complete orders as directed by clinicians. Completes and submits referrals and authorizations. Assists patients with the scheduling of both internal and external future medical appointments. Schedules and confirms patients' appointments. Will be required to travel based on business needs. Requires a high school diploma. Prior related experience of one or more years is required ; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background of experience. Medical Assistant diploma (completion certification) from an accredited school of training required. Bi-lingual may be required. The MA functions within the scope of his/her education and training.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 or more years recent experience as a medical assistant.
  • Must have certification of completion from an accredited school of training for medical assistants.
  • Minimum one year work experience as a Medical Assistant or completion of an externship at a CareMore medical office and at least six months experience working in a medical office as a receptionist, or equivalent education.
  • Proficient in use of EMR and other technology use
  • Must be flexible with local traveling within the assigned county for daily home visits and covering assignments for teammates in case of emergency.
  • Ability to follow instructions verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to assist in lifting patients.
  • EXCELLENT DRIVING REQUIRED to drive company (if needed)
  • Good transportation needed to drive to patients homes, when company vehicle not available (reimbursed for mileage).
