Righttime Medical Care is currently seeking Medical Assistants/X-Ray Technicians to join our growing teams in Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery counties! Medical Assistants/X-Ray Technicians are responsible for aiding our providers in ensuring optimal patient care, promoting proper patient flow in the Care Center, and performing general diagnostic radiography to assist the Providers in pediatric and adult patient diagnosis.
- Greet patients promptly and professionally
- Ensure patients are given the appropriate paperwork and direction to complete the paperwork when checking in.
- Review charts for accuracy and completeness at patient checkout and report discrepancies to the nurse.
- Alert medical staff of urgent illness by use of the computer diagnosis monitor. Determine patient’s immediate needs and direct them to clinical staff according to protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, keeping patient areas clean and well stocked
- Interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and record information on patients’ chart.
- Aid the nurse in pharmaceutical duties including pulling appropriate medications (except narcotics), typing label information, and processing prescription cards. Prepare medication for distribution, have the medication inspected and verified by the nurse or physician staff prior to distribution.
- Aid the nurse in performing lab work as directed
- Attend all department, management, special project meetings and training
- Position patients for radiological examinations
- Produce accurate and appropriate x-rays to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems
- Take measures to prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation
- Facilitate a timely x-ray process for the patient
- Properly operate and maintain specialized x-ray equipment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree from accredited school preferred
- Medical Assistant Program completion preferred, certification in Radiology required
- Minimum 1 year medical assistant experience
- Communication skills: excellent interpersonal skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; ability to respond effectively to all inquiries; ability to write using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling; ability to present information
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows applications; ability to use Excel; word processing; spreadsheets, e-mail and Internet
- Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately
- Relies on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work independently on projects and as a member of a team
- Ability to multi-task and organize and prioritize workload
