Medical Coding Coordinator
Job Reference ID:30613

We seek a professional with strong attention to detail to ensure accurate medical coding related to technology assessments, medical policies, claim payment policies and adhoc coding projects. Working closely with the Senior Claim Payment Coding Coordinator, management and other staff of the Claims Payment Policy Department, you will also review coding sources to recommend and develop comprehensive listings of appropriate codes in accordance with coding guidelines. Be prepared to also revise coding within policies in accordance with committee, management, medical director recommendations, or based on revision to policy. Will also turn to your expertise as a resource to company associates regarding medical coding issues related to departmental documents, projects and inquiries.

In addition to the ability to work well independently and as part of a team, our qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Coding Certification (CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT
  • Minimum of three years work experience in health care or health related position
  • Comprehensive understanding of the interrelations between various medical coding systems as they relate to medical and provider claim payment policies
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Demonstrated experience using the Internet, medical coding systems, databases, such as Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Office software (preferably Word and Excel)
