• Perform collection calls regarding past due accounts


• MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A HOMECARE FACILITY/AND OR HOSPITAL. 


• Contact and work with major medical insurance providers, Medicare and Medicaid


• Code and update account information.


• Reviewing accounts for billing accuracy in order to maximize reimbursements.


• Following-up on claims status through appeals, re-billing, recalculations or claims adjudications.


• Data entry.


• Correcting insurance assignments to patient accounts.


• Insurance eligibility verification and obtaining prior authorizations.


• Complying with Federal and State regulations.

Requirements

• Must have previous Medical Collections experience with major medical insurance provider, Medicare or Medicaid.


• Knowledge of ICD-9 coding.


• Must be detail-oriented.


• Working knowledge of appropriate coding systems.


• A thorough understanding of Federal, State, and PPO, HMO, and Indemnity Plans structure is required.


• Must possess full knowledge of all medical benefit levels.


• Must meet or exceed the standard level of performance on assigned accounts.


• Prefer experience in obtaining prior authorizations.
