Job Duties
A successful Medical Collector will be responsible for the following:
-Reviewing remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement to make adjustments as necessary
-Performing analysis of patient records and determines the legitimacy of treatment, diagnostic testing and medical equipment delivery.
-Processing and follow-up for third party collections.
-Processing and follow-up for patient collections.
-Verifying that records for patients include all information required for Third Party reimbursement.
-Verifying billing information for electronic claims transmission and hard copy billing (CMS 1500 forms).
-Handling billing and collections, denials and appeals, and checking claim status.
-Verifying and Collecting deductibles
