SUMMARY

Plans, directs and manages content for medical education and marketing programming; communicates with clients to determine educational goals and scope of programs; and develops educational materials and slide presentations to explain scientific concepts to a variety of audiences in the health care industry.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Participates in strategic planning to determine educational goals and scope of programs for clients and/or faculty.

·         Maintains and develops existing client relationships as well as initiates new client relationships, aids in developing sales strategy for growing the business.  Provide independent medical direction for ongoing and new business activities.

·         Works with internal staff and teams (program management, account management, clinical program managers, etc) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.  Develops and manages clinical aspects of all timelines for programming.

·         Develops all program content in cooperation with medical advisors and/or faculty; performs research; designs PowerPoint/slide presentations; and writes speakers’ notes to explain scientific concepts to a variety of audiences in the health care industry. Maintains reference library and computer files of materials used in program development and presentations.

·         Forecasts workloads for team.  Allocates resources within the team.  Responsible for communication with the Director of Clinical Operations to request additional resources if necessary.

·         Communicates with faculty prior to major symposia to determine agenda, distribute assignments, and establish deadlines for submission of materials. Meets with faculty on-site prior to major symposia to review and edit presentation content

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Advanced degree in pharmacy, nursing or related field; or PhD in related field.
  • Three to five years of medical education experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
